Not Just an Art School

notjustanArt Camp Bezalel is more than an “art school”. While we do teach kids painting, drawing and crafts- we believe that our greater mission is in nurturing creativity and building basic developmental skills. Art has therapeutic properties that help build motor skills, brain development and helps with their emotional well-being.

Motor Development Classes (2-5 years old)

motorskillsBetween the ages 2 to 5 years old, children usually make rapid progress in developing motor skills. For instance, children start to have strength in their hands and fingers which enables them to hold a pencil correctly and begin writing activities.

With our experience, it has been proven many times how arts and crafts activities have helped students ages 3 and above develop or improve their fine motor skills. We have also observed children undergoing speech therapy and taking our art program improve in their speech with great progress as shared with us by their parents and teachers.

Because of its encouraging results Art Camp Bezalel now has a program for ages 2 to 5.

The goal of this program is to give your children stimulating activities which focus on Fine Motor Development through Arts and Crafts such as:

  1. Tracing and Color Rendering – using crayons and paints
  2. Cutting – collages
  3. Placing and Pasting – crafts and more

Motor development classes start this August. Schedule will be announced soon.

Adult Painting Classes Start in June

April 7, 2010   11 comments

Lately we’ve been getting a lot of inquiries about painting and drawing classes for adults. We actually do, year-round, with the exception of summer.

So to all non-kids (or better yet, KIDS at HEART), don’t fret! As soon as summer is over, we’ll be able to accommodate you again. For now, you may enroll your kids in our summer program! They still have a month to go before school starts! Check out the packages in our previous blogs. :)

Have a great summer!
